Hayrideand Bonfire

Hi Friends! We've been thinking that it would be awesome to have an opportunity for grad students / young professionals in the area to meet each other and hang out. So, we'll be hosting an event each month just for that!

This Friday, 10/2, we'll be hanging out at Richard's Fruit Market. There will be a hayride and bonfire starting at 7pm so come when you can, and be prepared to be outside. Hope to see you there! The address for Richards Fruit Market is 6410 Middle Rd
Middletown, VA 22645.

Welcome to Third Place, Winchester

Welcome to the Winchester Third Place page!  Third Place is a community for young professionals and graduate students in the Winchester area.  We have a structured social event once a month, so come on by and check us out.

About us
Our name, Third Place, comes from Ray Oldenburg, a noted sociologist.  Oldenburg identifies third places, or "great good places," as the public places on neutral ground where people can gather and interact. In contrast to first places (home) and second places (work), third places allow people to put aside their concerns and simply enjoy the company and conversation around them. Third places “host the regular, voluntary, informal, and happily anticipated gatherings of individuals beyond the realms of home and work.”

Third Place is sponsored by Christ Episcopal Church in Winchester.  Coming to Third Place doesn't obligate you to attend a service at Christ Church.  Christ Church sponsors Third Place because they care about young professionals and see the need for young professionals to find a community of friends.  If you are looking for a church home, or just want someone to talk to, the door is always open.  You can learn more about Christ Church at www.christchurchwinchester.org.
